From missing teeth to fixed smile - in a single appointment

There was a time when getting dental implants meant months of appointments, temporary dentures, and waiting between stages. For some cases, that's still the right approach. But for the right patient, with the right planning, we can do it all in a single day - place the implants, fit a beautiful set of fixed teeth, and send you home with your smile restored before bedtime.

That's what teeth in a day means: not just implants placed in a day, but functioning, fixed teeth you can smile with the same evening. It's one of the most rewarding treatments we deliver, and one of the few that genuinely changes lives within hours.

Had Invisalign to fix my overbite and improve my general smile at Natural Smiles plus teeth whitening and I am so happy with the results. All the team are really lovely, Dr Raja is a fantastic dentist and I highly recommend them.

H Man

Friendly and professional dentist who removed all my old amalgam fillings and did a lot of work on saving my teeth from tooth decay that was overlooked by other dentists. Reasonable pricing for the service provided. Thorough in diagnosis. And you get to watch TV while having work done. I highly recommend.

Since having composite bonding about 5 years ago, the after care and service I've received at Natural Smiles has been second to none. I continue to recommend Natural Smiles and literally have nothing negative to say about the practice and all the staff. Starting my treatment with Natural Smiles was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and going to the dentist is actually now a pleasant experience.

A Chawda

Had a great experience! Everybody was super friendly and I was in a lot of pain following my wisdom tooth dramas but thanks to these guys I was fine within a day or so! Thank you for the super fast service and availability and continue being awesome!

Dennis Y.

Certainly the best dental services I have ever used. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and the treatment is brilliant with detailed explanations of options available and costings up front. There is no pressure at all, just informed advice. I would have no hesitation in recommending Natural Smiles to anyone else.

Neha B.

After years of having an uneven smile and consultations with different dental practices, I came across Natural smiles. Dr Waghela went through the options I had, took into consideration how I felt about each treatment option and was able to recommend which would work best for me. The treatment was exactly how he explained and immediately I could see results. Overall I am extremely happy with the result and it turned out exactly how I wanted. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit this practice, as all staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Dr Waghela took the time to understand what my issue was and really made a difference!

What is teeth in a day?

Teeth in a day is a same-day implant treatment that combines tooth removal (if needed), implant placement, and the fitting of a fixed temporary bridge in a single appointment. It's most commonly used for full arch replacement - the same approach as All-on-4 - but can also apply to smaller groups of teeth depending on the case.

The key word is "fixed." Your new teeth are screwed onto the implants, not held in by suction or adhesive. They don't come out. They don't move. You eat with them, sleep with them, and smile with them - all from the same day they're placed.

Who is teeth in a day for?

Not every patient is suitable for same-day treatment. The ideal candidates typically include:

Patients with multiple failing or terminal teeth that need to come out

People currently wearing dentures who want a fixed solution

Patients with enough bone (or who can have implants placed at angles to work with available bone)

Adults in generally good health

Non-smokers, or patients willing to stop for the duration of treatment

Patients ready to invest in a long-term solution

Why "in a day" matters so much to our patients

Beyond the obvious convenience, same-day treatment offers real clinical and emotional advantages.

No months in temporary dentures - which can be uncomfortable and embarrassing

One major procedure instead of several - simpler recovery, less time off work

Immediate transformation - you see and feel the difference straight away

Easier emotional adjustment - no extended limbo period

Highly efficient use of your time - particularly valuable for patients travelling from further afield

Modern protocols give excellent long-term success when done by an experienced clinician

Treatment day, step by step

This is the day everything happens. Here's a realistic view of how it usually unfolds.

Arrival and final preparation

You'll be greeted, made comfortable, and walked through the day's plan one final time.

Anaesthetic

Local anaesthetic is administered, with IV sedation as an option for patients who'd prefer to be deeply relaxed throughout.

Tooth removal (if needed)

Any remaining teeth that need to come out are removed gently. Sockets are cleaned and prepared.

Implant placement

Using a digitally planned guide built from your CBCT scan, your implants are placed with millimetre precision in the optimal positions.

Healing time and rest

A break for you to relax and recover, while your fixed temporary bridge is prepared in our onsite mini dental lab.

Fitting your new teeth

Your fixed bridge is secured onto the implants and adjusted for a comfortable bite.

Aftercare and discharge

Detailed instructions, contact details, and our promise to be reachable for anything you need over the coming days.

What about the final teeth?

The set of teeth you leave with on treatment day is your fixed temporary bridge - functional, beautiful and designed to look like a final result. After 3-6 months, once your implants have fully integrated with your bone, we replace it with your permanent restoration - usually built from higher-strength materials and refined to perfectly match the bite and aesthetics we've optimised during the temporary phase.

Why experience matters more than any technology

Teeth in a day is one of the most demanding treatments in modern implantology. Every successful case relies on the surgeon's ability to read each patient's anatomy, place implants with absolute precision, and execute the entire workflow seamlessly under tight time pressure.

Dr Bhavnish Waghela has placed over 6,000 implants with a documented 98% success rate

20+ years of focused implant practice

Accepts referrals from other dentists for complex same-day cases

In-house CBCT scanner for advanced diagnostic and surgical planning

Onsite mini dental lab with 3D printing - the reason we can deliver same-day results

Personally provides IV sedation for patients who need it

Treatment coordinator acting as your concierge throughout the day

How long do same-day teeth last?

The implants themselves are designed for the long term - with good care, decades, often a lifetime. The temporary bridge fitted on treatment day is built for around 6-12 months of use while everything heals. Your final permanent bridge, once fitted, can last 10-15 years or more before needing refurbishment or replacement, depending on materials and how heavily it's used.

The financial picture - what you need to know

Same-day implant treatment is a significant investment - one of the largest most patients will ever make in their health. We're upfront about pricing because we believe transparency is the only way to make a decision this important.

Finance through V12 makes this more accessible: 0% interest over 12 months with no deposit, longer plans up to five years at 9.9% APR, and staged treatment and payments for more complex cases. We'll go through every option with you.

Caring for your new teeth

The first few weeks are the most important. We'll go through everything in detail at discharge, but here's the broad picture.

Stick to soft food for the first 2 weeks while everything heals

Avoid hot food and drinks for the first 24 hours

Take any prescribed medications and antibiotics as directed

Sleep with an extra pillow for the first few nights to reduce swelling

Don't smoke - it's the biggest single risk factor for implant complications

Use the soft brush and interdental tools we provide

Come in for your scheduled check-ups so we can monitor healing

Patients travelling to us for same-day treatment

Around one patient a month travels from a significant distance for treatment with Dr Bhavnish Waghela. We've built our process around this. Remote video consultations, Loom video updates between visits, and a treatment coordinator who personally manages every step. Whether you're based in Wigston, Oadby, Knighton, Stoneygate, Great Glen, Kibworth, Market Harborough, Hinckley or considerably further afield, we'll make the journey worthwhile.

Frequently asked questions

Can absolutely everyone have teeth in a day?

No. Same-day treatment requires good general health, adequate bone (or the right anatomy for angled placement), and a commitment to the recovery and aftercare process. For some patients, a staged approach over a few months gives a better long-term result. We'll be completely honest at your consultation about which approach suits your case best.

Is treatment uncomfortable?

Local anaesthetic means you won't feel pain during treatment itself. Some discomfort, swelling and bruising in the days afterwards is normal - and easily managed with prescribed painkillers. Most patients say the procedure was significantly easier than they'd feared, and that the discomfort was nothing compared to years of dealing with bad teeth or dentures.

Will my new teeth look natural?

Yes. Your temporary bridge is designed for excellent appearance from day one. Your final bridge takes this further, refined to match your facial features, lip line and personality. Most patients tell us they end up with a smile that looks better than their natural teeth ever did.

How soon can I eat normally?

You'll start with soft food for 2 weeks while the implants begin integrating with your bone. After that, you'll gradually return to normal eating - though we'd typically suggest avoiding very hard or chewy foods (like raw carrots or tough steak) until your final bridge is fitted.

Can I have IV sedation for treatment day?

Yes - this is exactly the kind of treatment IV sedation is well suited to. Many patients find it makes a long, complex appointment feel like it passed in minutes. Dr Bhavnish Waghela personally provides the sedation, with full monitoring throughout.

What if something goes wrong after I get home?

You'll have our direct contact number for anything that doesn't feel right. We'd much rather hear from you about something small than have you worry overnight. Follow-up appointments are scheduled at the right intervals to catch anything early.

Will I need any other dental work first?

Possibly - it depends on your overall dental health. If you have any other issues that could affect the long-term success of your implants (gum disease, infection, structural problems), we'll usually address those first. Your consultation and assessment will make this clear.
