Clear aligners, evolved

Most people know Invisalign by name - and it's a brilliant product. But it isn't the only option, and for many patients, it isn't necessarily the best one. Spark is a newer-generation clear aligner system built specifically to address some of the issues earlier aligners can have: visibility, staining, and comfort. The result is an aligner that's clearer, smoother and more discreet than older systems - and just as effective at moving teeth.

Had a wonderful experience from start to finish having my Invisalign treatment with Natural Smiles. I'm an anxious dental patient but they always put me right at ease. Dentist and all staff were warm, welcoming, informative and on top of everything the whole journey. Can't thank you enough.

A wonderful experience having Invisalign treatment with Natural Smiles, I was quite an anxious patient but was made to feel so comfortable by Dr Pareek and all the staff. They are lovely and welcoming and put me at ease straightaway and I can honestly say I now don't fear the dentists! I had spent years not liking my smile and now I actually do, thank you so much for the new confidence it's given me!

Ashlee L.

Bryony S.

My experience at Natural Smiles was excellent, after avoiding the dentist for a couple of years I finally plucked up the courage to visit Dr Raja and I'm so glad I did, he instantly noticed I was feeling very anxious and he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I have been to a couple of different dentists in the past but Dr Raja was by far the best I've been to, not only was he very pleasant he also talked me through every step of what he was doing. I really can't recommend Natural Smiles enough. All the staff from the receptionist to Dr Raja himself were lovely and I will be returning in the future.

Steven T.

Fantastic service provided by Dr Ketul Bagia and the whole team. Always happy to answer questions and assuage any concerns. My teeth look the best they have in years. Would recommend to anyone considering orthodontic treatment.

H Man

Friendly and professional dentist who removed all my old amalgam fillings and did a lot of work on saving my teeth from tooth decay that was overlooked by other dentists. Reasonable pricing for the service provided. Thorough in diagnosis. And you get to watch TV while having work done. I highly recommend.

Sarju M.

Amazing as always, Bhavnish is a brilliant dentist, I would never want to see anyone else.

What is Spark?

Spark aligners are a series of custom-made, removable clear trays that gradually shift your teeth into their planned final position. You wear each set for 1-2 weeks, then swap to the next in the series. Over the course of treatment - typically 6 to 18 months - your teeth move into the position designed during your initial planning.

Spark uses TruGEN material - a high-tech polymer specifically engineered for orthodontic treatment - rather than the more general-purpose plastics some other systems use.

Why Spark over other aligners?

Choose Natural Smiles

Clearer material - the TruGEN polymer is significantly more transparent than competitor aligners, making it even harder to spot

Better stain resistance - holds up far better against tea, coffee and red wine than older aligners that can yellow

Smoother edges - polished trim that's gentler on your lips and cheeks

Strong, sustained force delivery - more efficient tooth movement in some cases

Excellent for cosmetic and minor-to-moderate cases - particularly suited to adult patients

What Spark can treat

For more complex cases, we may recommend fixed braces or a combination of treatments. We'll give you an honest assessment at your free consultation.

What Spark can treat

We use cutting-edge digital technology to plan and deliver your treatment with exceptional precision. This allows for more accurate diagnostics, fewer appointments and faster turnaround times, without compromising on quality.

Crowded or overlapping teeth

Gaps and spaces

Mild to moderate overbite

Mild to moderate underbite

Crossbite

Crooked or rotated teeth

Relapse after previous orthodontic treatment

For more complex cases, we may recommend fixed braces or a combination of treatments. We'll give you an honest assessment at your free consultation.

How treatment works

From your first appointment to your final result, the process is straightforward.

1. Free consultation

A relaxed conversation with our treatment coordinator to understand what you'd like to change and whether Spark is likely to work for you. £20 refundable deposit secures the appointment.

2. Detailed clinical assessment

If you're proceeding, we'll do a full exam - 3D scans with our iTero or Trios scanner, photographs and any X-rays needed.

3. Digital treatment plan

Your dentist designs your tooth movements digitally - and you'll see a video preview of how your teeth will move over the course of treatment, showing your final result before you commit.

4. Receiving your aligners

Once your plan is approved, your custom aligners are manufactured and we'll fit you with your first set, going through everything you need to know.

5. Wearing your aligners

You'll wear each set for 1-2 weeks, around 20-22 hours a day - taking them out only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. We'll see you for check-ins every 6-8 weeks.

6. Retention - the most important phase

Once your teeth are straight, retainers keep them there. We'll explain your retainer options and how to maintain your result long-term.

How long does Spark treatment take?

Treatment length depends on how much your teeth need to move. As a rough guide:

  • Mild cases - 6 months or less, sometimes faster
  • Moderate cases - 9-12 months
  • More complex cases - 12-18 months

We'll give you a specific timeline at your assessment based on your treatment plan.

Spark vs Invisalign - what's the difference?

Both are excellent clear aligner systems. The differences are real but often small. Spark tends to have the edge on clarity and stain resistance because of its newer material. Invisalign has been around longer and has a vast amount of clinical data and case experience behind it, making it the go-to for some more complex cases. We offer both - and we'll honestly recommend the one that suits your case best, not the one that suits us best.

Why choose Natural Smiles for Spark aligners

Aligner success is about more than the brand of plastic. It's about diagnosis, planning, monitoring and finishing - the bits that depend on the clinician, not the product.

Fully digital workflow - iTero, Trios, CBCT and in-house planning

Treatment coordinator acting as your single point of contact throughout

Onsite mini dental lab for fast retainer turnarounds and refinements

Caring for your aligners

  • Wear them 20-22 hours a day - the most common cause of slow treatment is not wearing them enough
  • Remove them to eat or drink anything other than water
  • Rinse them whenever you take them out, and clean them gently with a soft toothbrush
  • Brush and floss before putting them back in
  • Store them in their case when not in your mouth - never wrap them in a napkin (it's how most aligners get lost)
  • Don't drink hot drinks while wearing them - they can warp

Combining Spark with other treatments

Straight teeth often look even better with a few cosmetic finishing touches. Many of our patients combine aligners with:

This combined approach often produces a more complete, longer-lasting result than aligners alone.

How much do Spark aligners cost in Leicester?

Aligner pricing depends on case complexity - the number of teeth moving, how far they're moving, and how long treatment takes. We'll give you a precise written quote at your consultation. Finance through V12 is available to spread the cost - 0% over 12 months with no deposit, or longer-term plans at 9.9% APR.

Frequently asked questions

Are Spark aligners really invisible?

They're virtually invisible - certainly clearer than older aligner systems and significantly more discreet than fixed braces. Most people in normal conversation won't notice you're wearing them at all.

Will Spark aligners affect my speech?

There can be a slight lisp for the first few days as your tongue gets used to them, but it disappears quickly - usually within a week. Most patients say they forget they're wearing them after that.

How often will I need check-ups?

Typically every 6-8 weeks, although this varies depending on your case. Some appointments are quick check-ins; others might involve small refinements or new tray issues. We also offer remote check-ins for patients who can't always come in person.

Do I have to wear retainers afterwards?

Yes - this is genuinely the most important part of treatment. Teeth have memory and will gradually move back without retention. We'll explain your options (removable or fixed retainers) and help you build a long-term retention plan.

Can I drink coffee or wine while wearing my aligners?

Not while wearing them - they'll stain and could be damaged by heat. You should take them out for anything other than plain water. Brush your teeth before putting them back in.

What if I lose an aligner?

Don't panic. Either move to your next set early (if you're close to the end of the current one) or wear your previous one until we can sort a replacement. Call us as soon as you notice it's missing.

Will my teeth move back after treatment?

Not if you wear your retainers as advised. Without retention, yes - teeth naturally try to return to their original positions over time. That's why retention is treated as part of treatment, not an afterthought.
